उपत्यका साइकल सिटी सपना फाल्गुन १८, २०७५ प्रशान्त माली ललितपुर — ललितपुर महानगरपालिकाका मेयर चिरीबाबु महर्जनले महानगरलाई आफ्नो कार्यकालमा साइकल सिटी बनाएर छाड्ने योजना सुनाएका छन् । यसका लागि नेपाल साइकल सोसाइटी काठमाडौंसँग सम्झौता भएर डिजाइन तयार भइरहेको उनको भनाइ छ । पाटन दरबार परिसरमा यातायात र पैदल यात्रीको चहलपहल । तस्बिर : कान्तिपुर ‘साइकल लेन विकास गर्न यस आर्थिक वर्षमा ५० लाख रुपैयाँ बजेट छुट्याएका थियौं,’ उनले कान्तिपुरसँग भने, ‘बाटोमा पेन्टिङ गरेर साइकल लेन भनेर चिनाइनेछ ।’ पाटन दरबार क्षेत्र केन्द्र बनाएर चारै दिशाबाट चारवटा साइकल लेनको बनाउने महानगरको योजना छ । उपत्यकामा १ हजार ६ सय किमि सडक सञ्जाल छ । तर साइकल रुट अवस्था दयनीय छ । साइकल लेन मात्र नभई पैदलयात्रु सुरक्षित, सजिलै र साइकल पार्किङ सुविधा छैन । नेपालमा बर्सेनि झन्डै १ सय २५ अर्बको इन्धन आयात हुन्छ । साइकल प्रयोगलाई ल्याउन सकेमा इन्धनको खर्च अन्य विकास निर्माणमा प्रयोग गर्न सकिने मेयर महर्जनको भनाइ छ । भन्छन्, ‘साइकल लेनको वैशाख २० भित्रमा अध्ययन प्रतिवेदन तयार भइसक्छ ।’ सम्पदा क्ष
